Come Thou My Fount is my favorite hymn and I have been thinking for months using it as a theme for a creative project. I considered a scherenschnitte project but am not satisfied with any I've sketched. Lately, my interest has been altered books. Well, you can imagine my excitement when I found both here on your blog!

I am going to check out your tutorials for inspiration. Looking forward to getting to know you better!

Kindly, ldhGratefulPrayerThankfulHearthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05912258806814037028noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6344281177154314706.post-59034138038820290592008-11-10T04:10:00.000-06:002008-11-10T04:10:00.000-06:00Thank-you Miss Sandy ! Sometimes it was the popular tunes - but also the hymns... I still sing (even when alone) and sometimes even the old hymms from Sunday School days suddenly burst forth from my mouth when I least expect them to... Often reminding of 'old' values. Blessings... This was always one of my favorites.

Thank you for posting about its author. His story reminded me a little of the author of "Amazing Grace" and his mother's "washboard prayers". Do you remember which movie it was that had a character humming this hymn?

Thank you for your post. I may post on my own blog sometime about the "old" hymns. Our church does the contemporary versions...

Have a Blessed Sunday!
-SueSuehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14720793610870927446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6344281177154314706.post-22257155541231772782008-11-09T07:59:00.000-06:002008-11-09T07:59:00.000-06:00It is a wonderful hymn. Lately, all I do is listen to Fernanado Ortega's music...love his way with the old hymns.

Have a pleasant Sunday, Miss Sandy!Veehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00618654361869856894noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6344281177154314706.post-35773913580337942008-11-09T06:15:00.000-06:002008-11-09T06:15:00.000-06:00Sandy, I love the words to this old hymn. It's funny, I was pianist at our church during my college years and knew all the words to the hymns, but as I get older and experience more of life's joys and sorrows, I appreciate the words even more. May you and your family have a blessed Sunday.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
