"Life is the art of drawing without the eraser."
~John W. Gardner~
Sometimes an idea seems to come together in a perfect marriage of elements...All neatly tied up in a bow...The idea fanned the flames and sparked the imagination...Of creativity...It bursts into being...A holy moment...Only to be suddenly extinguished...By broken bits...Of empty ideas...Back to the drawing board...That pretty much sums up my day yesterday. Nothing jelled. The idea was there but the pieces were not falling into place. The art kits that I eluded to in my last post may be put on hold until I can get the right feel for them. So, today I will pick up my pencil and try again.
Oh, and in case you are wondering, the photos of the birdcage and candle were a part of the Christmas centerpiece I put together for the dining table. At least this was one project that came together as planned. I hope your plans are all falling into place. It is back to the drawing board for me, thank goodness for erasers!
Have a wonderful day!
Blessings,
Miss Sandy
I love your birdcage centerpiece! What is it about birdcages? They seem to scream happy...so pretty!
ReplyDeleteLove the birdcage arrangement, that is darling!!!
ReplyDeletesomedays the creative juices struggle to get out, just take a breather, maybe it's a day to just dream......
Hugs,

Everything is just perfect - I don't have high speed internet but I have fun as you do being creative and knowing HIM, thanks...Jennifer
ReplyDeleteYour centerpiece is beautiful! No, not much "gels" in my life any day, but I try to remember that God is the God of cracked pots and broken dreams and dreamers. It is working...for now. No day is ever wasted so what you learned yesterday will help with today's projects. Go get'em!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness - there is hope for me too lol -- I start a project and put it aside because -- I can't get it just right -- the Idea is not swirling in my head -- . then sometimes the idea is
ReplyDeletefalling completely in place ,in my mind -- and I am itching to find the time to put it together --
Blessings today to you - Kathy - ga ♥
Guess many of us have been where you describe today. I have. I have not visited for awhile and wanted to catch up. I loved your essay on the old homestead. Beautiful piece of work. My ancestral home is not in the family anymore. After 150 years it was sold a few years back. A huge beautiful plantation house with slave quarters still attached. I didn't like that but maybe the present owners don't realize what that was. I have gotten to visit, having bitter sweet memories from there.

ReplyDeleteI read at Speckled Egg's that you were sorry that the swap was full. If you wish I can swap a matchbox with you, no trouble for me, as I am in the swap and making 3 already. If you'd like to swap please let me know, but if you had already forgotten of this and already moved on, so be it, Sandy, no hard feelings what so ever!
I love your quotes, I love the beautiful things you have to share with my beauty-hungry eye, I love the ideas that seem to flow from my mind when I come and breathe here. sigh... I needed a breath of fresh air today. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI have a bird cage I have been storing away for just the perfect idea. Actually hiding it away because my husband will throw it away as junk if not. I know what I want to do with it... Next Christmas I will put one of my Nativity Scenes inside and decorate accordingly, a little like how you did with yours. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the inspiration, and for helping me save the birdcage from a horrible demise. :-) and... I simply am goggly eyed over the faux eggs.
