A Bit of Winter...

"Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home."

~Edith Sitwell~

It is so good to be back in the land of blog! There is so much to tell about my short one week break but so much I am still processing figuratively and literally that it will have to wait for another day to share. I trust you all had a wonderful Christmas and hope your New Year has started off well.

This morning I woke up to a wee bit of a wintry white world and found that I had company for breakfast...
Foraging through the thin veil of snow in search of acorns were nine deer in my back yard. So lovely to watch...I love the cozy tucked in feeling of being blanketed in a world of white. Today I dream of a warm fire, a good book, hot savory soup simmering on the stove, and time to sit and enjoy the sights, sounds, and tastes of such treats. I long to sit in the writing cottage with all the blinds open and watch the birds. But, these are just dreams as this is Monday just like any other Monday with chores galore only this one with more so since I was not home much last week. But, dreams are nice to hold in ones heart when doing daily tasks especially knowing that by days end they are obtainable.

I started a little piece of stitchery last evening and hope it turns out as I desire it to, both cute and useful, we will see...
I love having a bit of handwork to do on winter evenings...
I have not had time to get back into the studio since the holidays and my shoppe is all but empty, but, I hope to be back in there by weeks end after I catch up here at home. I hope your Monday is filled with sweet dreams and warm winter wishes that you can hug to your heart as you go about your daily tasks.

What are your warm winter wishes or dreams?

Blessings,
Miss Sandy

I see that you are beginning to put the pans back in the fire. Can't wait to see what you'll be up to next.

  5. Welcome back. I love the view from your cozy home.

For me, this winter is about hitting the books hard and getting as many credit hours as I can while still maintaining my sanity, which will definitely mean taking some time out for crafting!

  7. Hi Sandy,

I'm glad to see you've returned with beautiful stories and photos to share, and most fittingly, I received your package today from the Shop - the two stars are even more gorgeous in person and I'm thrilled to have them in my collection for next Christmas, though they're pretty enough to have out right now for a touch of winter whimsy.

As for my wintertime dreams, I don't know yet... trying to ease into the new year and this was our first day of work and school. It went well.

We're having more than a bit of winter here with temps below zero. My lunchtime walk today was brutal against the cold wind, yet also refreshing. I walked alone on campus, since the students are still gone and all is silent.

Hope your New Year dreams and wishes come true.
Thanks again for shipping the items so quickly.

    Love & blessings,
    Linda

  8. Glad to see you here again, and so glad you showed us your animal friends. What graceful, peaceful animals to admire. My warm winter wish would be to bring about a cozy and enriching environment to my home for myself, my husband, and my two children, and to spread cheer to anyone I come in contact with this winter...as this is sometimes a rather lonely and dark season for some. Have a wonderful week.

  15. Hi Sandy,

I just love your view and I love your breakfast companions, they are so regal looking.

I hate when I run into them with my car, however, very costly.

Your stitching project looks interesting can't wait to see it when its finished.

    Hugs,
    Penny
