Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all.
-Stanley Horowitz-
Tarnished spoon...
Autumns riot fading soon...
Silver pitcher...
Full of leafy glory...
All tell the tale of Autumns story...
A season that flies by faster than bird on wings,
Spoon up its sweetness and the joy that it brings,
Drink in its color, both molten and warm,
Artful is Autumn in hue, shape, and form.
We spent a glorious weekend at the farm. The first thing I do as soon as we are settled in is to take a walk and gather whatever happens to inspire me for a little vignette. My staples are a starched and pressed vintage linen, an old chipped platter, a beautiful translucent bowl, and a battered silver pitcher.
Colorful leaves, dried grasses, huge feathers, and a tarnished spoon were my treasures of choice...
I sat at the table with these small offerings of nature and a smattering of supplies...
Letting Autumn whisper its glorious inspiration to me...
Oh artful Autumn!
Blessings,
Sandy
Hi Miss Sandy - so glad you a restful and inspiring time at your farm cottage! I love the idea of creating ambience with whatever's at your fingertips! The colors of Autumn - every year I say Autumn is my favorite season... until spring rolls around. I guess they're both my favorites! Beautiful vignettes ...

Pretty!!! Pretty!!! We went out in our RV this weekend to Lake LBJ & the signs of fall were everywhere & I LOVE it all. This is one of my favorite times of year. Thanks for sharing. Charlene
ReplyDeleteArtful Autumn, beautifully said and so very right. Love all your Autumn finds and what it inspired you to create, so beautiful, so artful as well.
ReplyDeleteBye,

And you'll show us what happened next? Yes? I hope so! You could make something out of anything and it would be a beautiful something, too. I really like your arrangement in the silver pitcher!
ReplyDeleteIt is an awesome thing, the world God has created and all that He has made is there for the appreciation. You show the appreciation well in your arrangements. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteSandy...what a blessing...a place to walk and just BE. Finding all of these little treasures from Mother Nature are the icing on the cake of a delightful day!
