ART JOUNALING FAST & EASY...

I believe in sharing good things, and I am so excited to share a wonderful new art instruction DVD with you.  I greatly admire the work of Pam Carriker (Living Art at the Speed of Life), author of Art at the Speed of Life.
Pam has a brand new DVD available through the Cloth Paper Scissors Workshops, Art Journaling Fast & Easy.  I recently treated myself to this wonderful workshop and I can't say enough good things about it.  While I am not a journal artist I did learn some exciting layering paint techniques to enhance the design of some new mixed-media stitch pieces I have been working on.
Pam's teaching style is easy and friendly, she shares all her favorite supplies, tips, and techniques to building beautiful journal pages.  I applied her methods using my own favorite supplies to a hand dyed sealed piece of canvas and was just thrilled with how my first effort came out, best of all, it really was fast and easy!   My work in progress...
Pam is very thorough in covering every aspect from beginning to end of creating depth, color, layer, and unique techniques to make wonderful backgrounds for art journal pages. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced artist there is something for everyone.  Her techniques really are fast and easy and they produce beautiful results that can be applied to more than just journal pages.  I have watched this again and again to absorb all the information.  If you can't take a live class, this is the next best thing, very affordable at just $19.95 and packed with information to make your projects stand out.
You will learn Pam's "10 minute Journal" method to create a quick background, designing multiple backgrounds at once, discover ways to use your own art imagery by making transfers, stencils, screen printing, and carved stamps.  Plus, the DVD includes creative lettering for adding text to your work.  Pam shows you how to tie all the tools and techniques together to create a beautiful cohesive piece of artwork.  I guarantee you will be inspired.
Now, you might be wondering, what exactly does Miss Sandy get for this glowing review?  The answer:  Personal satisfaction at learning something new from someone whom she admires.  The gift of supporting a fellow artist by buying her product, being impressed, and sharing that information with others.  Exciting new artwork and inspiration.  That's it.
I am off to finish up this art piece!
Many blessings to each of you until next time...

  1. I love it! What a gorgeous piece you created. I've never been a journal person either but i do like to work small and to experiment so seems like it would be perfect for me. Thanks for sharing this. I'm going to check it out today.

  2. Hi Sandy!
I have been catching up on your posts and I'm tellin' you right now girl you are Brilliant!! I am so in awe of your creative mind. The desk, the cans (which I have done recently and not posted on but mine don't look anything like yours!)I'm gonna do a post on organizing my craft room (which I have painstakingly done) and when I talk about that may I link to your post on your desk? It's incredible what you've done.

The DVD sounds incredible. You are like me... you don't get anything for just sharing what products you like... just personal satisfaction.

Have a great day you clever clever girl!! Big hugs, sherry

  4. Your artwork is beautiful, at whatever stage it is.

I get the Cloth Paper Scissors newsletter and they have wonderful products - like this teaching video you've recommended. Lots of free ideas, too. But it's great to support an artist.

Enjoy creating! (I know you do.)

  5. Your page looks stunning, dear Sandy. Seem s there are so many layers there, and looks like a forest lake, where you can see mirrored things in. I love what you did, it and will go read about the DVD.

  6. Beautiful work, milady! I recently saw a fascinating demonstration found on Pinterest of a artist creating a double spread via some amazing background layering. Oh - just when I thought she was done - another layer. And how stunning the finished product!
