I had such great expectations for this past weekend but it read itself out like the opening line of a Dickens novel, it was the best of times, it was the worst of times. That pretty much sums up how the weekend went. Friday was the best of times even though Handy Hubby ended up needing to work instead of taking off as planned. I spent the entire day with my best friend celebrating her birthday. We hung out in the studio for a bit, went out for a fabulous lunch, my treat, hit Hobby Lobby, and then closed down the flea markets. The evening was spent lovin' up on grand-babies.Then Saturday rolled around and it was the worst of times. First off our UTV/ATV ride got canceled because Handy Hubby's best friend needed some help, which was really fine. Next we got news that one of our distant family members, who was like a brother to my mom, had passed away. Then the granddaddy of all migraines decided to visit me, which left me completely immobile in a dark room all day.Sunday arrived with spring-like weather, all sunshine and warmth and I was still sidelined. I was able to come out of my cave and relocate to the sofa where flipped on the TV with eyes closed against the glare while listening to Pollyanna on TV. I pretended it was the olden days and I was listening to radio.By mid-afternoon when I was sufficiently medicated enough to open my eyes and sit up straight so I ventured outside to get a look at the Spring Beauties peppering the lawn where a flock of robins hopped about. The fresh air cleared my foggy head a bit and I was able to go into the studio and finish up a project. I wasn't able to putter for very long, so much for great expectations!
I hope to have a little something pretty to share with you next post. Have a magnificent Monday!
Blessings,
Miss Sandy

Oh Miss Sandy,
I do so hope you are over the worst of these "worst of times"...what a coincidence...on Friday, March 5th, I quoted the same passage...
Perhaps this week will be the do-over of the "best of times" for you and your family.
Your artwork is beautiful!
Best wishes and hugs,
Sandy
Oh my, your bird tags are just gorgeous! I hope your feeling better soon :)
Hugs
Melly:)
I do enjoy your blog and all the wonderful things you create, especially the bird themed ones. Have you read A Brain Wider Than the Sky, it is a very interesting and informative read about migraines.
Oh, Miss Sandy, I do hear you about the headache. So awful. I hope you will be feeling better today. Your little bird tags are just so sweet!
The flowers...handmade, of course? Precious and delicate.
Diane
Sandy, kinda sounds like my weekends with it's ups and downs. Atleast you had some Robins to look at! We still have quite a bit of snow on the ground, which is now looking dirty and icky! The sun was out though! Here's to a better week for us all. Kim
I love your bird tags. I need to tell you I have been painting shells...what a creative idea. I have a birthday lunch coming up with 3 other ladies from my garden club...we all have March birthdays. So a little gift bag with bird tags. Thanks for the inspiration.
hugs,
Donna
Mornin' Sandy, So sorry to hear about the migraine putting you on the sidelines. I bet those grands are really growing. Spring and Easter will be especially sweet with two to share nature with this year! I love the photos of your latest creations. Hope you feel better and enjoy the week.

Your birds tags are wonderful! Hopefully you will much better today...
Your bird art is great and I hope you are over that head hurting soon. That kind of pain is awful and won't let you do anything until it goes away. Hopefully you are better. I pray you are.
Hugs, Pat
So the joyride has been postponed for a bit longer. I rarely get a migraine, just get them often enough to feel great empathy for those who have them all too often. Your Friday sounds like great fun! I love the movie Pollyanna and was just thinking of it last week and wondering what Hayley Mills is up to these days. Your creations are beautiful! I always really appreciate that you take the pains to go that little bit further (than I do or than many do). I also love the poetic nature of them.

Your tags are beautiful. Maybe next weekend will be better for you.
Isn't it fun spending time with grandkids? I just love mine to pieces too.
Thank you for sharing with us and have a wonderful week.

I'm sorry to hear about your weekend, your migraine Sandy. My mother used to suffer from that too, so I know from second hand that there is nothing good about migraine. My mother wanted to be left alone and quiet, nothing else. Luckily your weekend started good, nobody can take that away from you even not your migraine. Just like everybody else here I love your bird collages and how you displayed them. Hope your Monday is way better than your Saturday!
OK, first ...POLLYANNA WAS ON TV?? Darn..that was my favoritest movie and my last doll..grumble..
And second..those birds are FabUlOus!!! I.Love.Them.
