HOLIDAY GIVE AWAY AND SHOPPE UPDATE...

Well, this has been an interesting week to say the least. It started out with a bum wrist for me and an injured shoulder for Handy Hubby so between us we had two good arms, which has seemed to work out OK. We had a piece of bad news that we are handling remarkably well so, that's OK too. Here is what is not OK, my computer up and died. Why is it that we can handle a health crisis or a possible life changing piece of news and we are resilient enough to move on but the trivial things trip us up?(Paper Clay Snowman Treat Box)

I have pushed through the pain and the anxiety this week but when my computer quit I felt I could not function. Luckily everything was backed up and the hard drive is OK, so, my high tech son will retrieve my stuff and save it to an external drive and move it to the mini computer I am now using. Handy Hubby generously let me use his little bitty hard to see even harder to type on one that he uses for work.(Aqua and Silver Vintage Paper Snowflake Ornament)

I am still trying to acclimate myself to this new machine, startling news, and one handed hunt and peck typing method. I sure could use a little good news today! Does anybody remember the old Helen Ready song that crooned that line? I have vague memories of hearing my mother play a record with that song on there.(Silver and Cream Vintage Paper Snowflake)

Well, how about I share a little good news with you today? I think in honor of the opening of my new shop I should host a holiday give away! Giving always makes me cheerful. Here is how to participate, simply visit my new shoppe, Quill Cottage Curiosity Shoppe, browse through the items listed, come back and leave a comment on what is your one favorite item AND tell me something wonderful that is happening in your life at the moment, because I sure could use a little good news today. That's it, you don't have to have a blog, you don't have to be a follower, and you don't have to live in the US! Everyone is welcome to join in.(Mini Mitten Gift Tag and Ornament)

Now, for the prize, one lucky winner will get to pick the item of their choice from my shoppe! Sign up begins today and comments will be closed on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 10:00 PM CST. The winner will be announced on Friday, December 18, 2009.(Silver, Gold, and Cream Vintage Paper Snowflake Ornament)

Peppered throughout this post are the new items I have just listed in the shop. These will be my last listings until after the holidays.

Now, I'd really better get on the decorating, it seems I have upset the elves...Thank you for sharing your blessings with me!

Happy Holidays,
Miss Sandy

What a wonderful giveaway! I'm partial to the paper snowflakes. They are all beautiful but the aqua one makes my heart go pitter-patter. The good news is I found your blog. I became a follower because I don't text or tweet either and there are so few of us we have to stick together. :)

Uuuhhh! What beautiful goodies you are making! So Sorry to hear that you have had a rough week. I think the little things trip us up so badly because we try so hard to maintain through the really bad times. Something's gotta give sometime or you'd really loose it! The good thing I have to report is that I've made it through this year with MY sanity intact. (almost) HAHA And all of the crafting sure helps. Therapy you know! Thanks for all of the wonderful posts!

Something good in my life, my husband and I just rescued a 3 yr. old maltese and he is just the sweetest, most beautiful little guy. We adore him and he seems to be so very happy. He loves to run and play and just have fun and he is a very smart little guy.

Hope this note finds you and yours well and wishing you a very Happy Holiday Season.

I'm sorry you are having a bad week. But you have made my day happy since I just received the items I purchased from you. I love them. I will have to say the little wish box is my next favorite tho. Something else happy in my life right now, is my son, just got out of the Marines, and was married this past month. I'm so happy about that! Hope things get better for you. Thanks again. Cindy

I am saddened to hear about your week and yes, it seems we can handle what life throws at us, I said SEEMS...and then in the midst of a crisis or calamity some really trifling thing will go wrong and I just fall apart! Boy, i give myself a real eye-opener when I do that, and it is not a pretty sight.

Your give-aways are scrumptiously beautiful.I hope your Sunday proves restful and healing.

Oh, my good news...well, the temperatures are warming up from the single digits to the double digits, the high 20's and 30's and maybe I will not have to be carrying gallons of hot water out to all my sheep, goats, poultry , doves, and dogs all day long...more time for Christmas crafts and baking.

I'm so sorry for all the troubles. I don't believe in "luck," good or bad, but sometimes these things do seem to happen all together. May the Lord give you grace and help and strength for each situation.

I LOVE that "Wish" shadow box! Thanks for such a sweet giveaway!

Oh my! Such decisions! I would gift my friend Deb with Briar Rose's slipper. I would have the Joy star for it's year round beauty but the Snow Folk here would welcome a new friend...
Our great joy is in the good reports that bladder cancer has been removed from two family members and my sister's breast cancer treatments have been successful.

This is not a good time to be struggling and having a bad week!

Good news....our daughters tests all came back normal...we are so greatful and relieved!

Now to pick a favorite from your shop....oyyyyyy its so difficult because everything is soooo amazing! You are so creatve!
I love snowmen so I'd say the snowman box or the wish shadown box would be my favorites....I know I picked two but seriously it was so hard to narrow it down to just 2.

Oh, Sandy, I can relate! It's always the straw that breaks the camel's back! And we are so in tuned to using our computers for communication that when it breaks down we feel totally isolated! Especially in the crafting world that has become such a community of inspiration and friendship for us!
I love what you've made with the paper cones and snowflake! Beautiful!
I hope your aches and pains disappear quickly! Blessings!

PS: Sandy, I was just showing my husband (who is by biggest supporter) the things that you make and he said they are so beautiful! He can't get over the way this crafting community has come together on the internet. It's so true! Think about it! 15 years ago, we'd feel so alone! Now, there is a community of creativity that is absolutely amazing! I wonder how many people have actually had life changing experiences because of what we have all been doing on our simple little blogs, the sharing, the inspiration, the networking, the meeting of new friends all over the entire world!
Blessings....again!

All of your creations are lovely, each one of them. My favorite would have to be the "Winter Wish Shadow Box." So magical. A very good thing happening in my life is simply enjoying the good health of my family and just being able to be together everyday with eachother. I don't need big exciting events...just the day to day life suits me fine. I hope both you and your husband feel better soon.
