Make A Wish.....

A wish is a hope or desire for something.

(illustration by John Bauer, a fairy offering wishes)

"Every wish is like a prayer ~ with God."
~Elizabeth Barrett Browning~
Aurora Leigh

We all harbor a delicate dandelion dream in our hearts, a seed~like hope or desire that we cling to. Until that seed is released it cannot be realized.
So make a wish...
Breathe it like a prayer.
Watch it take flight,
Let it float on the breeze.
Here, take one of these...
And make a wish.
What will it be?

Blessings,
Miss Sandy

P.S. I will pick a wish from one of the comments from this post and the winner will receive a prize. Tune in tomorrow to see the prize and Friday for the winner announcement.

I love this post! Funny thing, my old college girlfriends and I were recently reminiscing about making a wish on a dandelion as a child and I found an adorable photo on google that a dad snapped of his little boy in a stocking hat blowing on a dandelion. My wish is to enjoy each new day as it is a present from God all wrapped up in the colorful ribbons of the sunrise.

When I was a little girl I use to pick these seed heads and blow on them. I don't think then I made wishes I just liked watching the seeds float through the air without a care in the world.

Recently our newspaper headline read that we have had 55 homicides in our city so far this year. My wish is that people knew the love and peace that Jesus has for each and everyone of us, then surely this wouldn't happen.

Miss Sandy, I've been away.... I've enjoyed catching up. I must first comment on the fall garland (from a previous post) It captured the true essence of FALL. The birds nests were the prefect embellishments!
I think I've had several dandelion wishes granted.
My Parisian Give Away (valued at $200+) is now posted. This truly has your name written all over it!! You won't believe your eyes! It is my way of showing my heartfelt appreciation for all the support I was given in the infancy of my blog. My Lil' Boutique's Grand Opening is now official too. I'm slowly filling it with my favorite designs and treasures. I'm truly enjoying this blog journey, especially the new friends I'm getting to know through our visits. Thanks for sharing your precious time with me.
*SWEET WISHES*!
Sara

Hmm, of course the humanistic side of me wishes for world peace and the panicked side of me wishes for a better economy. But in my most quiet and deep heart of hearts, which is my mother's heart, there is the small flame of hope that wishes for my children to grow up kind, wise, healthy and loving the Lord.

I wish America would stop agonizing over who will be the next President and keep their minds on who is on the Throne! I have only one vote in November and I know what will prevail is God's will. That's what is getting me through this election!

We loved to blow on Dandelions as a child and watch them scatter, but I never heard of making a wish when you do it. We used to make a wish on the first star we saw in the evening. And I still find myself doing that. My wish and pray is for all my children to accept God as their Savior and live for him every day.
Have a Blessed Day,
Diane

Sandy, my wish and my prayer is that I, and all of us, can be as close to the Lord and have Him in our hearts and minds and lives in the Good Times as well as the Bad Times. We have a tendancy to run to God (and we should) when things are not going well and there is crisis in our lives. We also have a tendancy to let time with God slip by when things are going great in our lives. Today, I wish for a closer walk with Him even tho my life is truly blessed and happy right now. Blessings to you - Vickie

Miss Sandy,
My wish is not an original one, but one that I am borrowing for you. You can read the entire story (http://www.motivateus.com/stories/iwish2.htm) that goes with it, but I will copy the wish below.

"I wish you enough." May I ask what that means?"

He began to smile. "That's a wish that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone." He paused for a moment and looking up as if trying to remember it in detail, he smiled even more."When we said 'I wish you enough,' we were wanting the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them," he continued and then turning toward me he shared the following as if he were reciting it from memory.

* I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.

* I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.

* I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.

* I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.

* I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.

* I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.

* I wish enough hello's to get you through the final goodbye.
