A Few Finished Projects and a Reminder.....

I recently gave you a sneak peek at a project I was working on and yesterday I finished it. This sweet 4 x 6 photo album is going out to a friend who is going to be a first time grandmother. Every grandmother NEEDS a brag book. It is a must have with you at all times accessory! Click on any photo to enlarge for detail viewing. The outside cover is made from cotton batting in a natural color, which is a bit creamy, embellished with pink french knots. The vintage storybook graphic of the lamb on the front is printed on muslin with a few embroidery highlights. The image is framed by vintage lace and old shell buttons. The edging is done in a blanket stitch, with soft pink velvet ribbon as a tie closure. For the inside front and back covers, I scanned an old sheet of vintage baby gift wrap and printed it on muslin. The little lambs are so adorable! The first page has a place to record the name, date of birth, weight, and length of the new baby. All the other pages have a pink polka dot background paper with photo corners for easy mounting. This album holds 3 x 5 photos. I have included a clear template to position over larger photos for easy cropping. I sent out the package from my recent give away. Here is the mini journal I sent with it. I forgot to post the photo when I completed it. I also sent along a couple of fashion inspired tags.
Speaking of Give Aways, remember to mark you calendars for my upcoming Spirit of Giving Christmas Give Aways! They will begin on Thanksgiving day! I will be holding four Give Away Events on the following dates: November 27, December 4, December 11, and December 18. These will be one day sign ups with the winners announced on the Friday after each sign up. Did you catch that "s" in winners? Yes there will be more than one winner for each give away!

Each week I plan to have a theme, a tutorial related to that theme, and a few holiday hint, recipes, and such thrown into the mix. I hope you will join me in spreading a bit of Christmas cheer!

NOTE: I can't remember who asked about the snowman in the above photo but, yes, I did make him and the scarf he is sitting on. He was a part of a give away package last Christmas. Would anyone like to learn to make him? If so, I may be able to add him and a few other related items to the tutorials.

Yesterday I worked on birds nest broaches and completed eight of them.
Thanks to the generosity of Dawn, who shared the sweet bird image, I have the perfect background for packaging them! Dawn thank you so much for sharing this adorable image! I love the tiny bird peeking out from behind my pins! I printed the image out in 3 x 5 size on white card stock. After trimming them apart I inked the edges and mounted the images to colored card stock. I punched a small hole where the pin back would be and clipped the pin to the card. I plan to present these in clear cellophane bags with some shredded paper in the bottom of the bag. I am in the process of making some little burlap tags to attach to the top of each bag.

Today I plan to finish a collage piece that I had to put aside and begin working on the rest of the tutorials for the Christmas Give Aways. I hope you all have an enjoyable Saturday before you!

Blessings,
Miss Sandy

What a wonderful idea! I've never had a brag book and now I have an idea how to make one.

Yes, I'd love to know how you made the snowman.

You're right, that little image perfectly complements the nest pins that you are making...just sweet!

Are you opening an Etsy store soon? :D
