FLEW THE COOP, BACK IN THE NEST...

Thank you to each kind soul who sent a message of encouragement, said a prayer, or gave a kind thought for our family.  You will never know how those comments from my last post helped me as I absorbed the news of my mother's condition.  The timing could not have been worse as we had planned and scheduled for a year now for a vacation for our immediate family and I did not know if I should go or not.  After much debate it was decided by my family that I needed the break and staying home was not going to change anything so, I flew the coop...

And hung out with my favorite peeps at the beach...
After a stroll across the sun warmed sand...
 Out to the rocky jetty...
The lapping of the waves began to work their magic...
The tension on the knots of emotion began to loosen...
We stood in silence and took in the breathtaking views...

Of sand dunes and sea grass...
A path of crystal blue waters leading out to open sea...
The bridge, with Crab Island just beyond, where the sun sinks to sleep at night...
And the harbor full of its bobbing boats...
We took deep gulping breaths of the salt tinged briny air as seaweed and frothy ocean foam swirled around our bare feet...
While the sea breezes ruffled our hair...
 We paddled in the ocean...
We enjoyed some fine dining on sea food such as fresh clams and catch of the day fish...
We scoured the sandy shores for treasures of the deep all the while introducing the grands to all things beloved about the beach like sun bleached shells nestled in the sugar white sand...
 Creatures from the deep...
The scattered remains of the sea birds breakfast...
They quickly grew attached to and embraced beach life...
Building little sand castles along the shore ...
And rollicking in the rolling waves...
They spent numerous hours trying to catch one of the little shore birds wanting to bring it home as a pet...
The sun began to set on our stay...
And it was time to point ourselves homeward...

 And return to the Quill...
With our bottled memories...
 We bid the seashore farewell...
We have safely returned to our nest fully rested and ready for the next chapter of life.

Blessings from,

It sounds like your getaway was just what you needed. God's creation plays a huge role in restoring my heart, too.
Wishing you much peace as you face the days ahead.

I was just thinking of you as I was doing some painting. I had that song on your blog that normally plays, "Ice Dance" in my head and was wondering how you have been.

I am glad you have taken that reprieve before you must go through this next trial.

I love that picture of the boat! What perfect timing!

Dear Sandy,
I just saw your last post and am sorry that I missed it.I am so sorry to hear about your Mother's progression. It must be so hard for you, Sandy but I'm so glad that you were able to get away for a bit. Beautiful photos and words on this post and the last.
My Mel is now on Hospice-so his progression is advancing rather quickly too. :(
Lifting you up in prayer, dear friend and think of you often.
Sending you comfort and love,
Sonya

Hope that the memory of your vacation at the seashore will carry you all the way until next time. It must have been so very sweet to get away.

Hope that the laundry is all done!
