BLENDING BEAUTY...

We spent the weekend unwinding at the farm...Which allowed me time and space to uncork a few new thoughts and ideas...That gave me back a little sparkle and shine...Pinning on new hope...That the passing of time will indeed renew both frail body and creative spirit...Life is sometimes a beautiful mess that cannot be controlled or contained no matter how pretty we try to package it...But whose contents must be spilled out in a bright, brilliant, beautiful mixture of whatever comes our way - sickness, health, poverty or wealth... Each facet has a joy or sorrow all its own. How we spend our time, on what we pin our hopes, and the way in which we uncork our dreams all become a beautiful part of who are meant to be. We entwine our lives with that of others, giving and receiving, blending the beauty, making a interesting assortment encouragement among the vast contrast of experiences that we share.

I thought about you all while we were there and wished that we were physically walking side by side through the countryside seeing the same sights and experiencing the same pleasures. It dawned on me in that moment...that is what we indeed do, this is the very essence of blogging - walking alongside one another sharing encouragement, cheering one another on, sharing the unique facets of our individual lives, forging friendships which otherwise never would have existed due to geographical constraints, communicating the joy of who we are, and sharing the hopes and dreams of what or who we wish to become. A perfect blending of beauty and bliss - thanks for being a part of the beautiful mixture of my life!

What beautiful bountiful treasure have you discovered in your blogging experience?

Blessings,
Miss Sandy

WITH HEARTFELT THANKS...

If instead of a gem, or even a flower, we should cast the gift of a loving thought into the heart of a friend, that would be giving as the angels give.

-George MacDonald- Thank you, you sweet wonderful friends, for casting the gift of loving thoughts into my heart and giving as the angels give! I am so honored that you would take the time out to send them my way. I did see the doctor yesterday and am trying out another combo of meds and they seem to be taking hold. I am slowly climbing out of the sticky web of sickness...Heading down the path to wellness...My every step feels as if it is being closely watched...Sickness still stalking...Ready to pounce again at any moment...Like the pale little primrose I lift my face to the sun...Tilting it upward to receive the full warmth...
Of the strength I have gathered around me...In your friendship, through your prayers, well wishes, and good thoughts...My heart bursts with gratitude...As I count each one you as a beautiful flower...In the bouquet of blessings in my life...The stony weight of unwellness seems to be lifting...I am beginning to feel as light as a feather...Or at least, pointed in the right direction...You truly are a bunch of good eggs...
I can't think of anyone I d' rather share my nest with here than you... As you can see, I managed a little walk about this afternoon. I found a few gifts from nature to play with. I happened upon a spark of inspiration in this little piece of wood... Can you guess what it will be?

Happy guessing and many blessings,
Miss Sandy

BACKLASH...

I feel like such a baby...(Image from Karen's Whimsy)

It seems I have experienced a little backlash that has dropped me back into the cradling comfort of my very own bed. I have made a sudden violent whipping motion back into the realm of sickness. Weak, feverish, and can't swallow, back in bed, covering my head, after three whole blissful days of feeling well. At least I got the laundry caught up and the house restored to order. I hope to return to the neighborhood soon!

Missing you all and wishing you happy spring days filled with wellness and joy!

Blessings,
Miss Sandy

VERTICAL AND HOLDING...

Back in the days before remote controls and flat screens, television sets actually came with knobs on them. Each knob served a function to change the channel, (yes, we had to get up and cross the room and turn the knob!), tune in the station, as well as maintain horizontal and vertical hold of the picture.

We had a big black and white television set in an Early American style hard rock maple cabinet. The front of the speakers was covered in a gold threaded fabric and it had the four knobs mentioned above. We got a total of four stations, two of which were fuzzy with snow unless you adjusted the rabbit ear antenna and squished aluminum foil just right on the tips and then they came in just fine.

Our set had a habit of losing its hold and the picture would start to flip, flicker, and fade. A little adjustment of the horizontal hold button and it was back in business. More often than not it would loose its vertical hold and the picture would wibble and wobble in long vertical waves.

I was thinking about this as I stepped out of bed this morning and dearly wished I had a vertical hold button to stop the wibbling and wobbling sensation I felt while trying to remain vertical. All this reminiscing said to say that I am some better but need a few more days to adjust myself and then the picture of perfect health should appear and be all clear.

I thank you all for all your precious messages of well being. I have been so sick I have not even been on the computer until today. I ended up with a terrible flu-like bug and wished that my old TV hero, Marcus Welby MD would come and doctor me. With all the strangeness of a cheesy Sci-fi thriller, I then thought I had entered The Twilight Zone and aliens must be doing probing experiments on my poor aching head when I awoke from a sudden sleep with searing brain pain - a lovely migraine to cap off the flu. Then as if that was not enough, I became Bewitched! or at least my nose started to twitch like a witch followed by spells of sneezes and allergy wheezes!

I am sufficiently stuffy, shaky, and my head is still a little quaky but other than that I am just fine. It seems as if this is now a Family Affair as Handy Hubby is not feeling so bubbly. Too bad we don't have Mr. French to take care of us. I am vertical and holding!

I hope each of you have a healthy and happy weekend!

Blessings,
Miss Sandy

RESTING IN MY NEST...

" To keenly feel the poetry of a morning's roses, one has to have just escaped from the claws of this vulture we call sickness."

-Henri Frederic Amiel-I'll be resting in my nest for a few days recovering from a nasty bout with the flu. I was not feeling like myself most of the week last week but I seriously thought it was just allergies. On Friday my world began to blur and look a little like this...By Saturday I was quite shaky with fever and it trembled like this...Today, things have come back into focus a bit better, a little blurry around the edges like this...So, I will be on sick leave quietly resting in my nest under a bower of fragrant care of my sweet family like this... I'll see you when I can sufficiently sit up without the room spinning. Until then, have a beautifully blessed week!

Blessings,
Miss Sandy
